BBC Ascention Islands

Atmosair Ltd were taken to the Ascention Islands to supply and install air conditioning within the within the BBC Atlantic Transmitter Station. The conditioning was installed in various communications areas and also the main control area. As you can see from the photo all the refrigeration pipework lagging had to be coated with special white paint because of the extreme heat.

All the equipment, materials and tools were shipped out to the Islands two months before we arrived which gave us the added pressure of making sure we had enough materials. We took numerous spare parts due to the fact the nearest suppliers were'nt around the corner. The project took a two months to complete which gave our Engineers a change in weather and scenery.
